Police checkpoints net 86 warnings, tickets and arrests Friday

On the night of Friday, April 13th, 2012, all officers with Centre Police Department, with the assistance of Leesburg Police Department, conducted several Drivers’ License Checkpoints in the City of Centre. Officers also increased traffic control throughout the evening. There were a total of 86 tickets, warnings, and arrests made on Friday night.

City of Centre Christmas Tree Lighting 2011

Monday, November 28 2011, the Mayor Tony Wilkie, the Centre City Council and the City of Centre hosted the annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree Ceremony. Reverend Gregg Higgins and Eugene Burgess participated in this year’s festivities. The City of Centre wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
